Not very often, and most of it is spam, but occasionally I get email that requires some response. Here is one I felt compelled to respond to.

The scary thing is that this is not fiction. It’s actual people who are allowed to vote and procreate.
Although, from the looks of most of them, their procreation days are way behind them.

The favorite defense interposed to allegations that the Sarah Palins, Glenn Becks and Rush Limbaughs of the world consistently ramp up the vitriol and hate, to the point I mentioned in my last post, is that everyone on the left is doing the same thing. “So are you, but what am I?” For every “Don’t Retreat, Reload” and “Second Amendment Remedies” the right throws out, there are just as many left wing “Kill Righties” and “Burn Becks” out there too.

As we all do, I have friends that fall along a different section of the political spectrum, and we often can have lively conversations concerning politics, religion, current events, etc. Today my wife forwarded some election spam from one of our friends and asked me to respond to it in some way. Here’s the original spam in all its glory, followed by my response to my wife:

Rather than post one of my rather long winded diatribes on a specific topic, I thought I’d mention a few things I’ve seen and found interesting on other blogs, in the news or elsewhere. So, without further adieu…
With all this talk about whether President Obama is a Muslim or a Christian, as he claims, with Glenn Feckless making an issue of it despite his own Christian ambiguity, with 18% of the electorate believing he’s a Muslim, and with 60% of seemingly lobotomized Republicans using it as a political issue to retake Congress, it seems to me that the Founding Fathers didn’t go far enough defining the required qualifications for the job of President.
I used to have a business card that said, on one side “25% of my friends have hemorrhoids” while on the back it said “the other 75% are perfect assholes”. It was a humorous novelty card, not one I handed out to prospective clients. I was reminded of that card when I read this story. My initial inclination was to simply provide a link to the story, without comment. Anyone with even a modicum of intelligence would, or should, have the same reaction. The man is a transparent, opportunistic asshole!
Glenn Beck is losing it. I know, he probably lost it long ago, but his TV persona and public relations machine has a lot of people convinced that he makes sense, when he’s clearly a fruitcake riding the money coaster.
The latest nonsense out of his mouth is a great example of biting the hand that feeds you. He claims that religion, institutional religion, is really a front for Communism and Nazism.
