The following story is just another example of how the people of this country continue to be attracted to, and vote for, mediocrity.
Arlington, TN Mayor Russell Wiseman is upset with the President of the United States. Apparently, the President had the temerity to schedule his major speech concerning the build-up of forces in Afghanistan right when the Mayor was about to sit down in from of the boob-tube and watch the Charlie Brown Christmas Special. He posted about his frustration on his Facebook page, saying:
“Ok, so, this is total crap, we sit the kids down to watch ‘The Charlie Brown Christmas Special’ and our muslim president is there, what a load…..try to convince me that wasn’t done on purpose. Ask the man if he believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he will give you a 10 minute disertation (sic) about it….w…hen the answer should simply be ‘yes’….”
He has since deleted his Facebook account. Images of foot in mouth come to mind. His ire at the President’s scheduling was not limited to the president, however. He also struck out at everyone who supports Obama:
“…you obama people need to move to a muslim country…oh wait, that’s America….pitiful.”
Can you spell B-I-G-O-T?
Who elected this guy? There’s actually a town in America that elected a mayor who believes that a cartoon character is more important than the President of the United States, so much so that he publicly tells the President’s supporters to move to another country because they are interfering with his television viewing? I guess in a free country such as ours, one has the right to feel and speak out like Mr. Wiseman, but it doesn’t really say much about his qualifications for the job as mayor, or the intelligence of his constituents. (Although, in their defense, they may not have known. Perhaps we should wait to see if he gets re-elected before passing judgment.)
To his credit, he does know a little bit about the Constitution.
“you know, our forefathers had it written in the original Constitution that ONLY property owners could vote, if that has stayed in there, things would be different……..” [actually, the Constitution doesn‘t say this – S.I.]
So, should we surmise that he believes that only white, male property owners should be allowed to vote, because at the time the Constitution was enacted, those were the only Americans who typically could?
Won’t be long before Bill O’Reilly has him on his show, and on a FOX based pedestal.
